Dodge’s All-New Charger Takes Electric Muscle Cars to the Next Level
Dodge has taken the wraps off their long-awaited all-electric muscle car – the Charger. With a range of up to 317 miles and horsepower figures of 496hp and 670hp, the Charger promises to deliver the power that Dodge fans expect while bringing electric performance to the masses. It marks the brand’s first foray into electrification while staying true to their performance roots.
Available in Daytona Scat Pack and Daytona R/T trims to start, the Charger aims to appeal to both power and range with estimated 0-60 times of 3.3 seconds for the Scat Pack. Designers sought to balance aerodynamics and classic Dodge styling to create a look that is unmistakably a Charger. Features like the Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust and R-Wing hood promise to deliver signature muscle car thrills.
Taking Electric Performance to the Next Level
Under the skin, the Charger pushes the boundaries of electric vehicles with technologies like Powershot to unlock an extra 40hp for high-performance driving. Care has been taken to ensure the Charger handles like a true muscle car as well with massive wheels, tires and brakes. Production will take place at the Windsor Assembly Plant in Canada, cementing the Charger as an American performance icon for the electric age.
Only time will tell if the Charger’s impressive specs and authentic Dodge styling are enough to win over loyal fans or bring new buyers into the fold. But with its focus on delivering visceral performance and emotion, Dodge may have just redefined what an electric muscle car can be. The Charger looks poised to ignite electric passions in a way no other EV has to date.
