Haason Reddick Isn’t Looking to Leave Philly
There was some buzz going around last weekend that Eagles edge threat Haason Reddick might be looking for a change of scenery. But the South Jersey native says that’s not the case. While Reddick understands the business side of the NFL, he claims he never directly told the team he wanted out. The former Temple star has enjoyed his time in Philly and wants to stick around if the money is right.
And Reddick believes he deserves to get paid what he’s worth after back-to-back double digit sack seasons, including a career high 16 last year. But at almost 30 years old, the Eagles may be hesitant to dish out a big long term deal. Reddick’s production did tail off a bit down the stretch too. Still, when you look around the league, there aren’t many who get after the QB like our guy.
So What’s A Dude To Do?
At the end of the day, this is a business. Reddick knows another team would jump at the chance to ink him to a fat contract if he hit the open market. And let’s be real – after all he’s done since coming to Philly, the man deserves to get paid. But he also wants to stay put if a deal can be worked out. Something tells me Howie Roseman will find a way to make everyone happy. This guy is too valuable to lose.
Only time will tell how everything shakes out. For now, Reddick says he’s keeping his options open but hopes to stick around Eagles territory. And who could blame him after the success he’s had in midnight green? One way or another, it’ll be interesting to see how this situation with one of the league’s best playmakers plays out. Stay tuned folks.
