Philadelphia Union Teams Up with Easterseals
The Philadelphia Union is partnering with Easterseals to improve accessibility in the community through soccer. This new collaboration aims to welcome people of all abilities through inclusive programming and events.
The nonprofit Easterseals provides education and therapy services for children with disabilities. They are now a supporting partner of Union Youth to help more young players get involved. A special “Philadelphia Union” hosted Soccer for All clinic will teach soccer skills to Easterseals students on the sportsplex fields. Therapists will also be on hand to assist.
Creating Access Through Technology
In addition, Easterseals’ ES Gaming division will run an eSports tournament as part of the partnership. They will serve as the presenting sponsor of the competition, striving to make gaming accessible to participants of all skill levels.
Accessibility efforts will also extend to matchdays. Philadelphia Union branding will appear on video boards, LED signage, and other placements in the stadium and plaza to help promote Easterseals’ mission. The goal is to make every fan feel welcome in the community regardless of their abilities.
By teaming up with innovative organizations like Easterseals, the “Philadelphia Union” takes an important step toward inclusion on and off the field. Through soccer, gaming, and more, this collaboration aims to ensure people with disabilities can live, learn, work and play without barriers. It represents the progressive spirit of accessibility and equality in sports.
