What Does A Cavity Look Like?
When your dental enamel is destroyed by decay it leads to what is commonly known as a cavity. This results in the development of either a hole or pit on the outer layer of your tooths’ surface – often appearing as an inconspicuous white smear amidst its original shade; sometimes even taking on shades of brownish hues there could even be some dark tints that make it noticeable.
However, it is possible for these cavities to show up in dental X-rays before they emerge as an apparent sign in the oral cavity. Cavities bring about unwelcome symptoms such as toothache, heightened sensitivity towards both hot and cold temperatures in the mouth, and general pain when you are consuming food or drinks that come under either of these extremes – or alternatively have a sweet taste to them.
