Golden State Warriors Assign Two Rookies to G League Team

The Golden State Warriors recently made a move, by sending rookies Trayce Jackson Davis and Brandin Podziemski to their G League team in Santa Cruz. This decision was made before the teams game in Oklahoma City to ensure that these young talents get the playing time they deserve.

Both Jackson Davis and Podziemski have shown promise during their time with the Golden State Warriors. However the teams management believes that it might be soon for them to consistently play with the NBA team.

Coach Steve Kerr emphasized the importance of keeping them active saying, “Since neither rookie is currently in our rotation we believe it’s better for them to spend time in Santa Cruz. They’ll be back with us soon.”

To fill the gap left by these rookies two way players Usman Garuba and Jerome Robinson have activated for the game against the Thunder.

Jackson Davis, who stands at 6 foot 9 has proven himself in a notable game against the New Orleans Pelicans. He came close to achieving a double with nine rebounds, 13 points and an impressive four blocks.

His presence gives an advantage to the Golden State Warriors on defense alongside players, like Kevon Looney and Draymond Green.

On the side guard Podziemski had a debut facing the Pelicans grabbing eight rebounds dishing out two assists and scoring five points.

The fact that the Golden State Warriors selected him as the pick, from Santa Clara and subsequently traded for Jackson Davis as the 57th pick, in the second round of the 2023 Draft shows how much confidence they have in these talented young players.

This decision made by the Golden State Warriors demonstrates their dedication to nurturing and fostering their rookies ensuring they have opportunities to develop and showcase their abilities.
