Justin Fields Hoping To Continue Balling in Chicago

The quarterback situation in Chicago is one big question mark heading into the offseason. Justin Fields, who has shown flashes of brilliance but still has room to grow in his third season, wants to stick around. But as the young signal caller knows, the NFL is a business first.

“Of course I want to stay,” Fields told the St. Brown Brothers podcast. “I can’t see myself playing in another place. I love the city. The fans are great. But it’s a business. I don’t have control over it.”

Justin Fields has dealt with the rumors and speculation about his future with the Bears ever since the team landed the No. 1 pick. Some think Chicago should draft a rookie like Caleb Williams to take over under center. Others believe in Fields’ talent and want to see him get more support and develop further. Only time will tell what moves GM Ryan Poles makes.

Ballin’ But Wants Clarity

Justin Fields

While on vacay, Justin Fields decided to take a social media break – including unfollowing da Bears. Not trying to send any messages, he says. Just wants to relax without seeing football stuff clogging his timeline. Still, the young QB wants some clarity on his situation sooner than later.

“I think the biggest thing with all this going on right now, I just want it to be over,” Justin Fields said. “Let me know if I’m getting traded, let me know if I’m staying.” Wherever he ends up, it’s clear Fields is focused on taking his game to an even higher level and balling out for whoever gives him the opportunity. Dude’s got talent – he just needs the right situation to shine.

At the end of the day, Justin Fields has no control over what happens. He can only control what he does on the field. And after showing flashes of his big-time ability last season, there’s no doubt he’s hoping for the chance to continue leading da Bears’ offense and improving in Da Windy City. But like he said, football is a business. So we’ll see what Ryan Poles ends up doing at QB as the offseason rolls on.
