Tiger Woods Withdraws Early from Genesis Invitational Due to Illness

It was disappointing news for fans at Riviera Country Club yesterday when the one and only Tiger Woods had to call it quits during round two of the Genesis Invitational. Known for his grit and determination to power through pain, even Tiger couldn’t battle the illness that left him feeling under the weather. After making par on the seventh hole, he was carted off the course as concerned spectators looked on hoping he was ok.

According to his buddy Rob who was with him, Tiger started feeling crummy the night before. By the time he stepped onto the course in the morning, he was feeling feverish and dizzy. They tried giving him fluids to help out but walking around in the SoCal sun wasn’t helping matters. The docs checked him over and said it was some kind of flu bug along with dehydration that was bringing him down.

How’s the GOAT Holding Up Now?

After getting an IV to rehydrate him, thankfully Tiger was said to be on the mend and feeling better. But it was still too much, too soon to try battling it out against the other golfers in round two. The important thing is that he’s resting up now to get his strength back so we can hopefully see him back in the game again soon. Even the greats like Tiger need to take care of their health first before anything else.

All in all it was disappointing for Tiger to have to bail early from a tournament he hosts and supports. But fans know he’ll be back as soon as he’s 100% to thrill crowds with his talent and tenacity. For now we send our best wishes to Tiger for a quick recovery so he can get back to doing what he does best – showing the golfing world that he’s still the top dog.
