Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small Addresses Family Allegations
Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small called an impromptu press conference on Monday to directly address the swirling rumors and allegations that have engulfed his family in recent days. The Mayor stated that the rumors spreading on social media and among some in the community are untrue and stem from a private family matter, not any misconduct in his position as mayor.
Last Thursday, over 20 law enforcement officers executed a search warrant at Mayor Small’s home, seizing cell phones and laptops according to his attorney. Mayor Marty Small maintained the search turned up no evidence of corruption, city funds misuse, or any illegal activities as some rumors had suggested. Both he and his wife, the superintendent of Atlantic City schools, pledged full cooperation with the investigation and expressed frustration with the execution of the search warrant.
What Exactly Did The Authorities Find?
At the press conference, Mayor Marty Small took the opportunity to directly address and deny some of the most egregious rumors that had been circulating, including claims of violence against his daughter and involvement in alleged criminal activities. He stressed these allegations are untrue and are causing harm to his family. Furthermore, Mayor Small said he and his wife are undergoing family counseling to deal with the fallout from this ordeal and asked for privacy during this difficult personal time.
As the investigation continues, Mayor Marty Small says he will fully cooperate and looks forward to having his name cleared of any wrongdoing. However, he maintains this process has become overly aggressive and public, taking a toll on innocent family members. Only time will tell what prosecutors ultimately determine, yet Mayor Small is steadfast the matter involves personal not professional issues for his family.
