Max Verstappen Dominates Japanese Grand Prix Once Again

Max Verstappen showed his dominance at the Japanese Grand Prix this weekend, taking the checkered flag for the third time at Suzuka. The four-time world champion controlled the race from start to finish on his way to his 57th career victory.

In changing conditions around the Suzuka circuit, Verstappen got a perfect start from pole position and never looked back. He powered his Red Bull straight to the front of the pack and began pulling away from the field. Despite some light rain falling in the early laps, Verstappen maintained his composure at the front to build up a comfortable lead.

By halfway, Verstappen had opened up a 10 second gap over second place Sergio Perez in the other Red Bull. The championship leader continued turning fast laps as the track dried out, consistently putting in times quicker than anyone else could match. With clear air in front of him, Verstappen was able to control the gap and take his third win at the Japanese Grand Prix with ease.

Perez Completes Red Bull 1-2

Behind Verstappen, Sergio Perez brought his Red Bull home in second place to complete the team’s 1-2 finish. Perez had a quiet race running in the wake of his teammate but did enough to keep the Ferraris of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz at bay. Leclerc managed to hold off Sainz for third in the final result, securing another solid haul of points for Ferrari in their fight with Red Bull in the constructors’ championship.

Verstappen’s dominant display underlined once again why he is a four-time world champion. The Dutchman is in complete control of the 2024 season so far with a massive lead at the top of the drivers’ standings. With only China left on the calendar this year, it’s looking increasingly likely nobody will be able to stop Verstappen from securing his fifth consecutive title.
