Earth Day 2024 Events in Milwaukee Inspire Environmental Action
Earth Day 2024 is fast approaching and communities throughout Milwaukee are gearing up for another day of environmental celebration and action. Now in its 54th year, Earth Day began as a grassroots effort and has grown into a worldwide event, with millions of people participating in events each April 22nd to support environmental protection. This year, Milwaukee residents have plenty of options for getting involved locally through cleanups, hikes, educational activities and more.

Milwaukee Riverkeeper is coordinating their annual river cleanup with over 90 locations to spruce up the banks and waters. The Urban Ecology Center will also host cleanup events at each of their three nature branches. Meanwhile, Friends of Retzer Nature Center is organizing volunteer opportunities across multiple Waukesha County parks.
